Sara Lee 80 Calories & Delightful Wheat Hamburger and Hot Dog Buns, - Hooray for Sara Lee! She has replaced our beloved, gone-but-not-forgotten Wonder Light buns with her brand-new, 80-calorie bread items. Each one has 1g fat, 160mg sodium, 14 - 15g carbs, 6g fiber, 2g sugars, and 4g protein.

I have not had them yet, but I was told they are light and fluffy and very tasty. I am going to try them as soon as they are in my market.

Great to use for leftover Easter ham sandwiches.

Little Bit here and a little bit there, makes a difference.

THIS WEEK!

This is a busy week for most people. I am sitting here enjoying my morning coffee thinking how this week will play out. For me, it is the week my state rep comes out for our annual visit(at my place of business). I am sure everything will go fine, but I always sweat it out, and can't wait for the rep to leave. So I will tell myself to calm down, breath and hopefully get through the week with ease. This is nothing compared to what Christ went through during Holy Week. For Christians this is the most important week of the year, it's a very humbling week. Knowing someone could love us enough to die on the cross and to promise us he will rise again is amazing.

On Holy Thursday, many Christians wash each others’ feet. This ritual is based on Jesus washing his disciples’ feet before the feast of Passover and charging them to treat others with the humility that he has shown them. Sometimes it's a challenge to for me to treat others with humility, and I am embarrassed to say this.. I need to be kinder to others and treat them the way I would want to be treated. This is my goal, work on treating others with humility. Be kind and caring....

Starting with myself, and treating others with the same love I have for myself.

Fresh Fruits & Yummy Veggies

It’s been a while since I have had fresh fruits and veggies……..it’s been since my hospital stay in January.
I now have the go ahead to eat them up. My motto has always been to eat one fruit and one veggie with each meal. More preferably……..
It’s something you probably don’t appreciate unless your told you can no longer have them……but I am happy to say………bring them on…..slice me up an apple or dice me up a pear.
For me…… my three meals and three snacks now will include, fresh fruits and veggies……and that makes me happy.
Divas, do you eat at least one fruit or veggies at each meals and snacks too?
If not,do it......it's good for that Diva body of yours.

This Lemony Treat is low fat and tasty

You take a boxed
Lemon Cake; mix it with one can of Diet 7 up (that’s all).
I use a long cake pan instead of a tier pan. Spray the pan with Pam. Pour into pan.
Bake for 30 minutes on 350. Cut into squares.
I like a scoop of Low fat Vanilla ice cream with it or a couple of dollops of fat free Cool Whip.
DIVE INTO IT DIVAS…….it’s Delightful! This treat is complements of my sassy sister Debbie.
Thanks Debbie!

(This week make sure you add a fruit and a vegetable to each meal)

EMPOWERING BELIEFS

• Believing in yourself makes a big difference.
• It’s important to become aware of what you believe about your weight-related or health related goals.

Your Health-management success will hinge on whether and how strongly you believe:

• Your goals are desirable and worth the effort to achieve them.
• You’re capable of achieving them.
• You deserve (are worthy) to achieve your desired outcome.

TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF

Everything you do will help towards your goal.

• Value your own needs as much as you value the needs of others such as: your family, work, and friends. You have to be the best “YOU” to be any good for others.

• Say good bye to guilt, it will sabotage your goals.( I think if your Catholic, this could be the hardest thing to get past...more on that another time).

• Make time to do the activities you love, such as a hobbies or activity or to pamper yourself. Tell yourself you are wonderful and praise yourself for everything you do to go towards your goal. Take a wonderfully delightful bubble bath with a glass of wine and some candles.

Don't forget when you wake up and tell yourself....Today I will eat three meals and three snacks...Again make sure you add a fruit and a vegetable to each meal this week..

I did see a Rainbow in the sky yesterday.

This week I am trying to set my mind to think positive thoughts about my life and the world around me. I did see a rainbow yesterday on the way to work.....this is a good sign....I won't give up on myself.
Never give up on a “healthy you” Always have the “healthy you” vision in your head. Believe in yourself, you have the power to be the person you want to be.

I write this because I need to see it, in word form. Through out the day I need to say these affirmations over and over to myself.

Every morning I give thanks to the Lord, for the gift of Life. I want to be healthy enough to play with my granddaughter....I want to live longer then my mother did. She died at the age of 59....she had just turned 59 years old. I don't want her health to haunt my life.
This is the week to get my mind set, I need to think positive thoughts about my life and the world around me.

At this time I am beginning to see a pattern to my meals(since I keep a food log everyday) and the times I eat them. Next week I am going to try to have dinner a little earlier.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Today during my break I went home and put a small ham, cut up some cabbage and white potatoes and put it in the crock pot......also bought some Irish soda bread.
I can't wait to go home and enjoy this with my hubby!

Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.

Perspective

By looking at things from a different angle, we expand our horizons.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, don't concentrate on the negative, focus on the positive.
Tell yourself, "You are beautiful" "You are beautiful", "You are beautiful"
From One Diva to another......YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Positive thoughts, attract positive feelings.

As the weekend unwinds, my thoughts move to tomorrow.

Tomorrow, when I wake up and put my feet on the floor I will begin by saying, thank you Lord for the gift of today. How wonderful it feels to be awake and ready to start my day. Just to breath in and out, fresh air is a wonderful thing. I will breath in and hold it for three seconds then release. This can be done three or four times. It feels great. Today is truly a gift.

As I take my shower and go about my normal morning routine I will say to myself; "I will eat three meals and three snacks today" I will say this over and over. I will only eat when I am sitting down using a plate. For now it doesn't matter what I eat. It's my choice, but I will only have one plate of food, no seconds. If I want ice cream....I can have it, but it must be part of my meal or snack. I will schedule the foods I eat each day and it's important to eat at about the same time each day. This will prevent impulse eating. I will drink plenty of fluids such as water, low fat milk, sugar free juices, tea, and coffee.

Now, if any other Divas want to join me on this quest to be healthy, I will give you a few ideas. I journal everything I eat....remember if you bite it, just go ahead and write it.
I have just a simple notebook and I write the date and what I eat at each meal or snack.
Sometimes I will write something special for the day that will inspire me. Maybe a quote or something special I want to do that day or a small goal that I want to achieve for the day.

The whole point of what I am doing this week is to start slow, and by eating three meals and three snacks per day, I am beginning to show consistency to how many times I eat. I have to plan to sit down to eat my meals or snacks. No impulse eating and no eating on the run.
This sounds easy, but it's not as easy as it seems.
Baby steps to a healthier you.
Remember: Always giving our best, lets our dedication shine through.

This is my quest for a healthy life.

I first took my Nutrition course to meet and satisfy the state of PA qualifications, so I can plan menus, cook and serve balanced meals to the children in my daycare. Then I started to say to myself...why am I paying others to help be become healthy in mind, body and soul. I have the tools to do it for myself. I am also feel the need to write how I feel each day, how my day is going and so on. It's a form of release for me. So I figure why write on three by five cards when I can blog about it. :)

I have battled with being at a healthy weight and making good food choices most of my adult life. (Chocolate became a staple for me). I have been on a few weight loss programs as well as dealing with what is considered a healthy exercise program.

Most recently I lost weight being on a popular weight loss program that uses a point system. This program really works and I think it’s one of the best programs out there. The problem with it for me personally, is it made me feel hostage to the amount of points I ate per day and if I didn't stay within my allotted point per day, I now have had “A BAD DAY”. Keep in mind this is "my perception" and not the perception of the program. I want to make that clear.

I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend and a business owner; I give a part of myself everyday to others. I want to treat my body with respect regardless if I ate more today then yesterday. I don’t feel like being held hostage anymore. I am done with it; I don’t need to have my days on this planet as being labeled “A BAD DAY” or a good day for that matter. I think of each day as a gift, I thank god for each day that I wake up and take in a breath...
I am developing this lifestyle for myself. If anyone else would like to grab a cup of coffee and join me…..I would love to have another Diva along with me.
I feel good about it……I hope you do too.
